Tibus is not tied to any single provider or platform, which means that when you ask us if a particular product is right for you, we will give an honest answer. If it isn’t, we’ll try to point you in the direction of something that is a good option for you.
Posted on 14 January 2015 - HostingThat approach and advice also applies to our blog, so we’ll try to help you make informed decision about whether or not it is a platform that would work for yours.
All the platforms we feature in this way are used by Tibus because we think they are valuable tools, so even if they aren’t quite right for your organisation, they are for others. Up first: Kentico.
What is Kentico?
Kentico’s own website describes it as an “all-in-one integrated marketing solution”, which doesn’t tell you a great deal, so we’ll call it a powerful content management system that also pulls in aspects of e-commerce, online marketing, intranet and collaboration tools and online community management. It has been around since 2004 and operates on the Microsoft ASP.NET platform.
What is Tibus’ relationship with Kentico?
We are a certified partner of Kentico.
How does Kentico work?
Kentico CMS works with dynamic websites. Rather than pre-render static HTML pages, it renders your content in real-time when it is requested by the visitor.
What are Kentico’s main benefits?
The Kentico CMS is renowned for its flexibility in terms of the ease with which sites can be developed, customised and scaled up, as well the ease of use of its interface for end users.
What server setup is best for Kentico?
We recommend running Kentico on a Virtual Service or a Dedicated Managed platform. The full server and hosting requirements are detailed in the Kentico documentation, but we can talk you through those if you don’t want to trawl through them to find the requirements for your website.
If you’ve got any questions about using Kentico, just get in touch.
