Synergy Learning is a learning technology company founded in 2005 in Northern Ireland. It provides exciting, engaging and empowering online learning experiences for clients in the education, corporate and voluntary sectors by building bespoke eLearning tools. These tools are built around two key platforms open source platforms, Moodle and Totara LMS, and provides a 360° service from content creation to platform hosting, training and support.
Clients including ACCA, Diageo, British Council, Halfords, Saxo Bank, The Big Lottery Fund, Migros, Deutsche Bann, Sedex Global, Save the Children, Marie Curie Cancer Care and several NHS Trusts have used Synergy Learning’s services to create learning tools tailored to their requirements, while leading consultancy firms, such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG, partner with the company for organisational learning and development projects.
By using their skills and expertise in the e-learning sector to explore the challenges faced by customers, Synergy Learning is able to deliver results-driven learning technologies that are focused on each client's goals and have a lasting impact.
We started working with Synergy Learning in 2007. At that stage, they needed a bespoke hosting setup to serve the eLearning tools to clients and asked Tibus to implement it. We delivered managed hosting over multiple clustered servers to ensure that the online learning environment was always available and had the capacity to be used concurrently by large numbers of people.
By 2010, the business had grown to the extent that the company wanted to create its own in-house data centre to host all of its services. But they still needed Tibus’ help to provide connectivity services. We installed the reliable, high-speed internet connection that the data centre needs in order to guarantee the quality of service to Synergy Learning’s clients.
In 2014, when Synergy Learning underwent through further expansion, we provided connectivity to a second data centre.
For both data centres we deliver dedicated capacity over our multiple upstream peers. This ensures that we have redundancy in how we connect Synergy Learning to the internet. In other words, the network can cope with a fault at any point and an alternative route can be found to keep the data centres connected. This also means we can offer the best routes to Synergy Learning's end users to guarantee the highest levels of performance and user experience.
We’ve been working with Synergy Learning for more than a decade. Over that time, we have adapted the services we provide to ensure that our technical support has developed as their business has evolved and expanded.
Working closely with their in-house technical team, we have used our expertise across different digital infrastructure disciplines to continue to be the technical partner Synergy Learning has needed at each stage of its growth.
Right now, that means providing an Internet connection of sufficient resilience that even if one component fails, Synergy Learning’s customers can continue to access its platform without any noticeable impact on performance.
