The software in question isn't new to the market, but it was the first time we'd had cause to use a platform of this kind. Having now done so, we're happy to report back our findings... we think SurveyMonkey is wonderful.
Posted on 18 February 2015 -In the course of our duties at Tibus (and, truth be told, just for our ownenjoyment sometimes) we're often trying out new platforms and services to see if they're any use. That might be for us or with a view to them coming in use for a client at some stage.
You see, we're not tied to any particular systems or software, so we're very open-minded about putting newcomers through a rigorous test.
In this case, the software in question isn't new to the market, but it was the first time we'd had cause to use a platform of this kind. Having now done so, we're happy to report back our findings...
Our road test was on a staff survey sent to more than 300 employees. As we say, this was the first time we'd used the software as customers.
We built the entire survey, which included a tricky question logic, in less than four hours. It took an extra hour to make the survey look pretty.
The CMS was awesome to use - really easy to find our way round - and we loved the integration with MailChimp, which made it easy to get the link sent out to our recipient list the same day as we built the survey. Integration with homebrew email tools would make it even better.
SurveyMonkey's pricing was fine. It wasn't cheap, but it did represent good value.
The whole experience was a showcase of how software tools, especially hosted applications, should work (and a reminder of where others fall short). It's managed superbly and is clearly very well thought through.
SurveyMonkey now has our respect as a web application business that is designed well and delivers expertly.
