Taking Broadcast Media Online

Taking Broadcast Media Online

01 July 2010

Level 3 Communications and national radio station talkSPORT joined us to deliver our seminar at the Merchant Hotel, Belfast.

TalkSPORT's Matt Davis and Ben Martin and Level 3 Communications' Joe Trainor presented on how best to distribute video online and the various online digital marketing platforms that are currently available to reach out and communicate with customers.

In today’s world all sectors, especially production and broadcasting, are being encouraged to meet the rising demand for online content by harnessing the complementary technology developments that support it.

High Definition TV (HD), Video on Demand (VoD), the iPad and the social media world of twitter, facebook, video sharing, podcasts, are collectively helping to shift customer communication and viewing trends to an online format than just our traditional methods.

Some companies have recognised this demand and have been proactive. Then others conversely are still not entirely sure on how they should tackle these developments. How can they take advantage of them, how can they monetise online content and that’s where our seminar came into play.

Ben MartintalkSPORT took time out from the World Cup and spoke with our local production companies on how they are testing various digital marketing platforms to reach out to their customers. Matt Davis, Head of Online, discussed what kinds of content they have and Ben Martin, Head of Digital Marketing, highlighted their key digital priorities including search engine optimisation (SEO), using social media tools like twitter, podcasts, facebook, video sharing and more. All of which will help talkSPORT secure their running space within the online digital race.
