The IEDR opens up the .ie domain to private individuals

22nd June 2007
During a recent consultation, the IEDR have decided to relax the rules around the much-prized .ie namespace, and for the first time, will allow the registration of personal domain names (PDN).
Providing the individual can lay claim to the PDN, backed-up with the appropriate paperwork, then the IEDR will allow the registration. During the consultation process, Tibus successfully lobbied for Northern Ireland documentation to be equally acceptable (for example a UK Driving License not just a Irish Drivers License), so individuals in both the North and the Republic can enjoy a .ie PDN.
If you’re interested in registering a personal domain name, then please contact Tibus Networks at info@tibusnetworks.com.
